The Future is Now
Good morning, adventurers! We made it to 2018! There's something about the beginning of a new year that breathes new life into us old, tired humans. I know that 2017 was a challenging year for myself, and for many of the wonderful people I know. I am going into 2018 hoping that we can weather the storms, stand tall against the barrage, and still be standing when we ring in 2019.
There's a great feeling of freedom for me as I start 2018. I am free of all the expectations I set for myself in previous years. I know the landscape of publishing, and writing, and I know what I have to do to make myself happy in it. I have some plans in place for the coming year, and whether I succeed or fail, I will know that I chose my own path and made my own way in this crazy world.
What the heck am I planning, you ask! Well, I told everyone back in the fall that my new focus is punk genres, and I've held true to that statement thus far. I have plans to write more stories in the Icarus Kane world, and I've started a really interesting dark noir, Gothic, steampunk shifters series called Shadowlyte Shifters Saga. This is a bit of Penny Dreadful meets Sherlock Holmes, with some romance, of course! I really hope readers enjoy it. I've also got a Radish exclusive series of cozy mysteries set in 1930s Illinois (The Franny Calico Mysteries) that I think readers will enjoy. So 2018 is shaping up to be a fun one for me.
READERS! What do you want to see more of from me in 2018? Comment below to tell me. I'm dying to know!
I wanted to wrap up this post with a special announcement. Bound to You is currently ON SALE for 0.99 for a very short time. This is a chance for readers who haven't met Jacks and Lia to get their chance at a reduced price. I wrote Bound with the idea that everyone is special, but Jacks is a little more special than most. To be honest, he's one of my favorite heroes and I hope you think so, too!
So, 2018, I'm raising my glass to you and to my fabulous readers. There's nothing I want more than to end 2018 with more great stories to tell.

I look forward to the dark noir shifters! Work on those. Although, frankly, anything you want to write would be great for 2018.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Of course there's more in the Icarus world to play with too, but this series is super fun so far
